Fight Shoe Odor with These Simple Tricks

What can be worse than the odor of stinky shoes? It’s bearable when you come home and no one except you smells it. But when you spend the entire day in the office or you’re going to visit someone’s house, shoe odor is absolutely unnecessary.

Sweat, bacteria, and foot problems are the major causes of disgusting shoe odor. While you’ll be trying to eliminate the root cause, give a whirl the following tricks to instantly get rid of your constant shoe odor.

1. Black tea bags

Enjoy a cup of black tea and combat shoe odor at the same time. Just brew your tea as usual and place those tea bags in your shoes, leave for a few hours or overnight and remove them. Black tea has powerful antibacterial properties and it kills bacteria – one of the main causes of the odor – preventing them from spreading onto your feet.

2. Baking soda

You can also treat stinky feet with baking soda. Sprinkle a dash of baking soda on each shoe and leave overnight. Wipe it off in the morning and you’re ready to go. It’s crucial to remove it because baking soda can negatively affect your feet health.

3. Cloves

Need to fight the odor during the day? Put 2 to 3 cloves in each shoe and the odor will disappear. Clove oil can do the trick as well. Just don’t overdo it. 2 drops will be enough.

4. Dryer sheets

Don’t feel like wearing the shoes with cloves? Place dryer sheets instead. They will keep your feet sweat- and odor-free during the day and won’t cause an uncomfortable feeling.

5. Kitty litter

Whether it’s silicon or natural wood, kitty litter can help you destroy the odor of stinky shoes in a jiff. It’s best if you use kitty litter infused with mild deodorizer. Layer the shoes with kitty litter and leave for an hour or overnight. Throw it away and you’re ready to get your boots on.

6. Cornstarch

Due to its excellent perspiration absorption ability, cornstarch will keep your feet dry all day long and thus prevent the odor. Simply sprinkle a bit of cornstarch on each foot and inside each shoe.

7. Essential oils

Eucalyptus and tea tree oils can also work miracles for your stinky feet. Not only will they take away the odor buy they will also kill bacteria and keep your feet healthy. Add 2 to 3 drops to each shoe and voila! Never apply essential oils directly onto your skin as they can cause irritation and allergy reaction.

8. Sage

Sage is an incredible source of tannic acid, which kills any unpleasant smell. Sprinkle ground sage on your shoes and feet or place a few sage leaves in each to fight the shoe odor. You can also add sage leaves to your footbath to combat bacteria.

You can also place your shoes outdoors in the sunlight to quickly get rid of the smell. But most importantly, keep your feet healthy and wear only high-quality shoes. Do you have flat feet? Try to shop for the best walking shoes for flat feet

Unboxing: Freedom Japanese Market Box

Hello my lovelies and welcome to my new post! Today, as you can see, we will be doing an unboxing post! I know it's been a while since I've done one, but I am pretty sure this post will make up for it. Today we are unboxing Freedom Japanese Market box full of snacks and candy! These products are shipped directly from Japan and are usually some sort of Japan exclusive products. This is an easy way to try out something different and unique.

They offer 1, 3, 6 month plan as well as a yearly subscription. Free shipping is included in the price. You won't have to wonder what is it that you got in your package because there is a list of products inside in English together with around a pound of products. Payments are easy and secure, with PayPal or credit cards. You can also order a box to be delivered to your friends and family as a gift (which is quite a nice idea). Also you are free to cancel your subscription any time without penalties.

I had a lot of fun checking out these Japanese products and I hope you will too!

So here are also my impressions when it comes to the candies and snacks I tried out.

I tried out all of these candies that you can see in the photos and it was such a fun experience for me. I previously unboxed many japan candy boxes but this one in particular might just be the one with most variety in it. You get both sweet and salty items, while none of the items are too small or there just for one mouthful. You get to taste all snacks and candy for a while and get a clear impression on it.

The small origami of the month really stole my heart. Also I love all the chips and clips type of products that were in this box. I had a chance to try out my first Dorito ever, even tho this one had a special flavor so it was really spicy. I really enjoyed marshmallows and caramel corn. In Europe there aren't so many sweet snacks that are shaped like salty ones, so it was so much fun!

All in all, this box and the experience of Japan and taste pallet that it offers are completely worth the money in my opinion. It is a great idea for you to treat yourself with it or have fun with your friends and family.

I hope you enjoyed the review my darlings. Let me know if you have similar experience with food boxes my loves!

3 Steps to picking the perfect dress for any occasion

Warmer weather has arrived and that means that chances are you will be going on vacation, attending weddings, picnics, and family gatherings in the near future. While these events are often fun and exciting as you get to reconnect with friends and family, the idea of finding something to wear is daunting and dreadful. After hibernating all winter and staying indoors to keep warm, chances are high that you may have gained a little bit of weight. This makes finding clothes all the more troublesome. With the help of this article and the Dress Guide from The Freedom State , you will have plenty of fashionable ideas at your fingertips.

  1. Type of event. If you are attending a picnic with family, you should choose a lightweight, colorful sundress. If you are going to a wedding, consider wearing a dress that is floor length and dressier than a sundress. The first thing to do when trying to decide what you will wear to an event is to identify the type of event you are attending. If you are attending a casual event, your dress should also mimic that. The same goes for a fancier affair or trip to the beach. There are types of dresses for any occasion.
  2. Budget. No matter what type of event you are attending, it is important to identify how much you are able to spend on your attire before you head out to the mall to go shopping. The worst is taking the effort to travel to a dress shop, try on dresses, fall in love with one, to then get to the register to find out that it is out of your price range. Save yourself the hassle and disappointment by solidifying a budget before you begin shopping. Also keep in mind that you may have to purchase accessories, shoes, pantyhose, and other items. Be sure to factor all of this into your budget so that you do not spend all of your money on the dress and then not have anything left over for the other accessories.
  3. Color. Choosing a color is important as it can draw excess attention to you depending on the type of event. Not to mention that certain colors are culturally more appropriate to wear to events compared to others. For example, it is not considered good etiquette to wear white to a wedding or wear bright colors to a funeral. Wearing white to a wedding is thought to take away from the bride which is a big “no, no.” Wearing bright, cheerful colors to a funeral when the atmosphere is most likely one that is glum, is also a bad idea. Dark colors are more acceptable for such an occasion.

When deciding what dress you will wear to your next event, consider the type of event as well as the appropriate color before starting to shop. It is also a great idea to have a budget in mind so that you do not fall in love with something that is out of your price range. Keep these tips in mind when shopping for your next dress.
